Which Number Plates Should I Choose?

If you simply need new replacement number plates, start with our Road Legal Number Plates range. You can choose the configuration you need, including a front plate, rear plate or complete set where available.

For more depth, 3D Gel plates provide smooth, domed characters, while 4D number plates use acrylic characters for a sharper raised finish.

Our specialist collections give you more options if appearance is your priority. Check whether your chosen product is sold for road use or show and display purposes before ordering.

Road Legal UK Number Plates

Number plates used on UK roads need to comply with rules covering their construction and appearance. These requirements help keep the registration mark clear and readable.

Road legal number plates manufactured to the current British Standard carry the applicable BS AU 145e marking and supplier information. They also need to use the required character style, sizing and spacing, with a reflective white front plate and reflective yellow rear number plate.

As a registered number plate supplier, we also need to verify the required documents before producing road legal plates.

What Documents Do I Need for Replacement Number Plates?

When you buy road legal replacement number plates, you'll need to provide documents confirming your identity and your entitlement to use the registration number.

Acceptable documentation can include a driving licence as proof of identity and a V5C registration certificate as proof that you are entitled to use the registration.

Once the required documentation has been checked, your new plates can move into production.

Custom Number Plates

Our range of custom number plates gives you different ways to change the appearance of your vehicle, from raised characters to alternative plate shapes and specialist finishes.

Customisation does not remove the legal requirements that apply to plates used on public roads. Road legal plates still need to display the registration correctly and comply with the applicable standards.

If you want greater design freedom, explore our show plate options for products intended for display or off-road use.

Green Number Plates

Eligible zero emission vehicles can display green number plates featuring a green flash on the left hand side of the plate.

The green flash identifies qualifying zero emission vehicles while the rest of the registration plate continues to follow the applicable requirements for UK road use.

Check the available options when ordering if you need green number plates for an eligible vehicle.

Number Plates for Different Vehicles

Driven Digits produces plates across a range of configurations, helping you find an option that works with your vehicle and registration.

Alongside car number plates, selected products and configurations may be suitable for other vehicle types. Check the individual product before ordering to confirm the available size and configuration.

Private Registrations and Personalised Number Plates

Already own a private registration? We can manufacture number plates displaying your registration once the required entitlement and identity documents have been provided.

A private plate or personalised registration still needs to be displayed correctly when used on public roads. The characters and spacing cannot be changed simply to make a personalised number plate spell or resemble something different.

Your registration must also be suitable for the vehicle's age. A registration cannot be used to make a vehicle appear newer than it is.
